Warriors Scoop Community Award in London

During a ceremony held on Wednesday evening in the Terrace Pavilion of the House of Commons, Warriors pipped rivals Saracens to the prestigious Community Impact Award as a result of the influence they have had in Worcestershire.

The Warriors, who launched the Worcester Community Foundation back in 2010, put on multiple programmes over the last year - including flagship programme Walk Like A Warrior which involved over 600 students.

And Community Foundation Manager Carol Hart revealed her delight at receiving such recognition and was happy to share the impact the club has had with so many others.

"It is amazing for Worcester Warriors. Community is important to us and always has been as a platform upon which our club is built," said Hart.

"We know that we make an impact and a difference and it is really important to receive such recognition and it is massive for our club and it is an honour to be here.

"We are a different club to Saracens and can never compete with them on numbers but to beat them tonight on Impact is amazing and we are really chuffed.

"Whenever you go up against Saracens you know you have a battle on your hands but to come away with a top trophy tonight is immense. It was great to share our success with so many others."

Louise Hewett is a Director and Trustee of the Warriors Community Foundation and co-founded the Walk Like Warrior Project back in 2009.
