Ready for business - new business start up programme - Government-funded

Mike Ashton, Chief Executive of the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce and his team are supporting a new government-funded business start-up programme which is available to clients in Redditch and the Wyre Forest.

Ready for Business is a unique programme that HW Chamber are supporting North Staffs Chamber of Commerce deliver. It helps potential entrepreneurs improve their chances of success, and provides expert help to raise funding.

The programme has been created because more people than ever are thinking about starting a business, especially as an option for early retirement or as a result of unplanned redundancies. Ready for Business offers expert support and advice to make the transition from career to self-employment as easy as possible, and it’s open to everyone, no matter what their previous business experience.

The first stage of the programme, a seminar exploring the essentials of start-up life, is completely free. There are several dates in Worcester to choose from or a member of the North Staffs Chamber of Commerce team can even come and deliver a seminar onsite, designed specifically for any of your employees who may be interested.

After that, if individuals wish to go further, the programme provides support all the way up to and post-launch, including help to raise funding. Delivery of the programme is tailored entirely to individual needs, or the Chamber can work with you to create a bespoke programme for your organisation, focusing on the unique needs of your employees.

If you are interested in this opportunity and would like to speak with someone further to explore how the programme can add value please do not hesitate to contact Charlie or Linda at North Staffs Chamber of Commerce on 01782 202222 or email
