Hewetts Race to first Place

A charity Grand Prix Karting event took place on Wednesday 17th September in aid of Sight Concern Worcestershire the only charity dedicated to improving the lives of local people with sight loss across the whole Worcestershire. Hewett Recruitment, whose head office is based in Kidderminster, held on through 90 minutes of racing, 3 driver swaps, 3 black flags, a few crashes and multiple spin outs to take the top spot and first place. They successfully fought off the 15 other teams who took part right until the end where they won out right despite the high level of competition from the Hayward Wright teams.

Anthony, who works from Hewetts head office in Kidderminster office was Team Captain for the Hewett team commented “It was a great day and for a good local cause, so we were happy just to be involved. It was nice to come out on top but we were all having so much fun, I don’t think the result would have mattered! But to get first place was a real team effort, great tactical planning and really consistent and fast lap times from the team, and some great wheel to wheel racing on track!”

The team at Hewett are always keen to put energy into supporting local charities throughout the year and is supporting Jeans for Genes Day on Friday 19th September – raising funds to support research into Genetic Disorders in children.
