Hewett Recruitment pledged their full support this Christmas with an initiative to help the local communities of Worcestershire who have fallen on hard times by starting a Christmas Food Bank collection.

A staggering amount was collected with over 300 items with help from colleagues, clients and delegates who attended the recent HR Conference at Bank House Hotel and Spa, in partnership with Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce.

Hewett Recruitment are truly overwhelmed with the response from those who chose to get take part in this initiative. Special thanks go out largely to the HR Conference delegates who kindly donated so many items we struggled to display all the donations given that day on the collection table. Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce staff also contributed to the collection with generous donations.

Also many thanks to our kind hearted clients Southco in Worcester who contributed to help those in need, Compco Fire Systems in Worcester who kindly donated items to this worthy cause with their generosity.

The local Foodbanks of Kidderminster and Worcester support those who have been identified by Care Professionals as ‘in crisis’ and are issued with a Foodbank voucher which can be exchanged for three days’ supply of emergency food.

Hewett Recruitment wanted to raise awareness of the hardship that many people face in their everyday lives and highlight the startling statistics from the Kidderminster Foodbank at Baxter Church Hall that served 2,766 people received emergency food vouchers last year whilst Worcester Foodbank based in Lowesmoor Wharf helped 4,973. With 1 in 5 of the UK population now living below the poverty line this surely highlights the freighting reality that many of us are facing on a day to day basis in 2016.

All food bank collections were donated to Trussel Trust food banks of Baxter Church Hall in Kidderminster and Lowesmoor Wharf in Worcester.
