Calling all leaders across Worcestershire!

Leaders from Worcestershire’s businesses, voluntary, community and public sector organisations have been working together for some time now with the aim of helping prepare the county for the future.
This important project is called Worcestershire Next Generation and it launches on October 1.

We know that by working together we can achieve far more than we would working separately.  Here in Worcestershire we already have many examples of where we have achieved things together that would have been impossible to deliver individually - and now we want more of these.

Of course the county faces some very real challenges. These include falling incomes, rising unemployment, growing pockets of deprivation, an ageing population, alcohol- and obesity-related health concerns and environmental issues. These issues are further compounded by an increasing demand for services with less money to pay for them. We must act together today for a better future tomorrow!

Having established that change is needed and identified what needs to be done, Next Generation is now asking you and other community leaders how you will contribute to this shared vision and help improve the quality of life for the next generation.

The project has established 25 commitments which focus on three key priorities:
1.    Our prosperity – making our economy stronger with more skilled jobs (working well)
2.    Our community – valuing our people, our health and well-being (living well)
3.    Our environment – valuing our special place and our natural resources (looking good)

You can help us move towards this brighter future in two ways.
Firstly, we’d like you to start a conversation across your communities and networks to communicate this exciting plan and bring it to life. We need you to tell us:
•    What commitments are most important to you and your organisation?
•    What will change in your organisation as a result of these commitments?
•    How can others help you contribute to these commitments?

Secondly, you can help in spreading the word by sharing this information to other local community leaders and groups you feel would like to become involved in this vital project. Keep in touch with the progress of next generation – find us on Facebook and Twitter.
