The Company

Forming part of the supply chain to an instantly recognisable high street brand.  An international organisation, they are well established and experiencing sustained growth. 

The Role

Support the Shift Co-Ordinator in a specified area of responsibility to ensure that quality & production targets are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure staff work to Standard Operating Procedures at all times.
  • Develop technical understanding of all processes to support staff in the general running of equipment and the diagnosis of faults.
  • Demonstrate efficient organisation of manpower to optimise production, including management of rest breaks and holidays.
  • Assist in shift hand over ensuring all plant is correctly set up and work stations left in a clean and tidy manner.
  • Administer shift documentation as directed including, daily shift reports and day books.
  • Actively promote communication initiatives across the shift by holding regular team briefs and displaying an active presence in the department.
  • Escalate problems, incidents or concerns to the relevant people in a timely manner.
  • Assist with continuous improvement/quality projects within the department.
  • Work in accordance with health and Safety guidelines, having particular regard for the safe operation of machinery and equipment and the correct use of guarding.
  • Assist other sections, departments, with support and information as directed.

Requirements

  • MUST have current or recent experience in a similar role (manufacturing/production environment).
  • Educated to minimum GCSE level.
  • Good communication skills – demonstrating the ability to lead and support a team.
  • Knowledge of working with KPI’s, objective setting.
  • Good Communication Skills.
  • ILM level 3 Certificate in Leadership & Management (desirable).
  • Six Sigma yellow belt (desirable).
  • Health & Safety qualification of able to demonstrate good knowledge (desirable).
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations (desirable).
  • Previous experience leading people

Based in Kidderminster, Worcestershire.

Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm on a rotating shift basis.

Salary dependant on experience.
